"The finished ensuite looks incredible—modern, functional, and exactly what I had envisioned."

I recently had Building Castles renovate my ensuite, and I’m extremely pleased with the results. Roland, the project manager, was outstanding from start to finish. He was professional, organized, and kept me informed throughout each stage of the renovation.

What impressed me the most was Roland’s problem-solving skills. When an unexpected issue arose, Roland quickly identified a solution that didn’t delay the project or increase the budget. His quick thinking and efficiency were greatly appreciated.

Roland also listened carefully to my ideas and offered insightful suggestions that enhanced the design. The quality of craftsmanship was excellent, with the team paying close attention to every detail. They were also respectful and tidy, leaving the workspace clean at the end of each day.

The finished ensuite looks incredible—modern, functional, and exactly what I had envisioned. I’m beyond happy with the results and will definitely be using Roland and the team for any future renovations. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free, delivering quality work on time and within budget.

I highly recommend Building Castles for anyone considering a renovation!

"Budget blowouts were averted..."

This was my first experience building. Building Castles oversaw and handled the entire build. The team had very good contact, and were patient and understanding of my needs.

Budget blowouts were averted by the project being handled by a company specialized in dealing with “eco-friendly” homes. Building Castles were able to make suggestions and take corrective action to save me huge amounts of money as the client, as the original design and budgeting that I had received fell “woefully short of the mark”.

Building Castles has a good reputation for sustainable building in my area, and I was grateful to get in touch, as I wanted a home that was going to need low to no power usage.

I have no complaints about John and his team, and would recommend him. John made my building process a reasonably good experience, and he has since become someone I consider a friend.

"They are problem solvers, and have a good eye for detail."

Building Castles worked with us on a bespoke build, light commercial. I own storage facilities, and their team did the foundations for that, and installed steel framing systems for me. John, their master builder, is a fine human being. He talks too much… you can’t get away from him in two minutes. He just likes talking about the job. It’s his passion coming out more than anything. Great for home building clients, where he will thoroughly explain things for sure. They are problem solvers, and have a good eye for detail.

Steady and reliable, you can trust them to get the job done.

"Approachable and easy to talk to..."

I am an ex-builder myself and had high expectations. My architect on this job recommended Building Castles.

I can say that communication was good, as the team insisted that we talk about issues as they arose and not leave anything to blow up.

Due to the complexity of the build, there were many ongoing issues to deal with. From gum beams and sarking, and the site needing to be fully covered, to material preparation time during a summer that rained non-stop, there were many factors that created a complicated build but the Building Castles care about how the client feels. They were interested in making sure we were happy and was very mature about things.

John from Building Castles is approachable and easy to talk to. I would recommend Building Castles to someone seeking a quality home.

"Tradies respected John and his team..."

I was referred to Building Castles by my architect. Considering the type of build we were taking on, the architect told us that he wouldn’t be happy to work with anyone else.
I became ill and needed a series of treatments during the build process, which meant we left many things to the building team to sort out. John from Building Castles built the kitchen from scratch with a friend who is a coach builder and manufactured all our custom, over-height internal doors too. They were open to change, and very accommodating of our ideas.

John took us to his own adobe brick home, took care to show building features to us and walk us through our plans. He advised us against including some elements that our architect had included, which were expensive and he could showcase had not been needed in his home where they had been included (e.g. fans to move heat around). The team communicated well, and was very easy to work with. They don’t become offended if you don’t agree with them. For example, they kindly took time to caution us when we were choosing expensive items that were going to blow the budget, but we wanted them, so insisted on the anyway.

The build all went to plan, and everything was organised well. Tradies respected John and his team, and he was fussy about who he used and what they were up to. There were no council holdups or any other issues Weather caused a few delays, but we were able to move in shortly after the agreed completion date.

I can also vouch that their after-care service is very good. There was a lead in our roof which we noted after moving in, and the team came and fixed it immediately.

I would recommend to anyone looking to build a home, especially one with eco-friendly features.
